Types and applicable scenarios of large-diameter connectors
Large-diameter joints (typically referring to DN100 and above specifications) can be classified into the following types based on connection methods and application fields, compiled from highly reliable search results:
grooved clamp joint
Core advantages: Easy installation (2-3 times faster than flange), flexible connection to compensate for pipe stress, triple sealing design (stronger sealing performance with greater pressure), no need for welding to protect the pipe coating .

2. flange joint
Features: Simple structure, easy to disassemble, suitable for high-temperature and high-pressure environments (such as steelmaking equipment in steel mills, with a temperature resistance of up to 800℃) .
Typical applications: flange valve connection in fire protection systems, connection between galvanized steel pipes and valves .
3. type K crimping joint (special for coal mines)
Specification: KJ10, KJ51, etc., compatible with DN51-DN76 hydraulic hoses, pressure resistance 47MPa, material is carbon steel or stainless steel .
Scene: hydraulic supports in coal mines, gas drainage pipelines .
4. mechanical three-way/four-way joint
Application:: Branch connection of fire protection pipelines (such as mechanical tees for DN100 fire hydrant pipes and mechanical crosses for DN150 main pipes) .
Selection suggestions
Industrial scenarios: Prioritize grooved clamps (for flexible requirements) or flanges (for high temperature and high pressure) ;
Coal mine/mine: K-type crimping joint or large-diameter quick-connect joint ;
Fire protection system: for DN100 and above, clamp connection is recommended; for DN150 and below, mechanical three-way fittings can be used.
